Raffle 2012

The Tibet Relief Fund 2012 Raffle was drawn on 10th March 2012. The winning ticket belonged to Ms J Lee-Hardy from Bristol, who won an idyllic beachside spa holiday in Kerala, India (very kindly donated by NEI UK Ltd).

Our sincere thanks to everyone who has supported the work of Tibet Relief Fund by buying tickets for our 2012 Raffle. The proceeds from our raffle this year totalled over £12,000 – a fantastic amount which will go towards our life-saving and life-changing projects in healthcare, education, development and self-sustainability for Tibetans in India, Nepal and Tibet. We could not continue supporting these projects without events such as our annual raffle and our wonderful supporters.

1st Prize: A sensational £3,000 week’s holiday for two people in the breathtaking Neeleshwar Hermitage Beach and Spa Resort in northern Kerala, India (www.neeleshwarhermitage.com)

The resort is just 200m from an idyllic beach on the Arabian Sea, where you can swim in the sparkling waters shared by dolphins and otters, see endangered sea turtles hatching their eggs on the beach and watch sea eagles and kites flying overhead. This stylish handbag has a detachable shoulder strap and outside zip pocket and is made by fair trade producers in Nepal, using local materials – including high quality buffalo leather (a by-product of the Nepalese food industry). It has a delightful hand-woven cotton lining and handmade brass fittings.
6th Prize: A beautiful handbeaten brass traditional Tibetan singing bowl worth £50 from Jiva Fair Trading (www.jivafairtrading.com)

This beautiful large (7") hand-beaten Tibetan singing bowl will create a magical and enchanting sound, often said to calm and soothe the soul, and aid meditation. It gives a magical harmony of notes and is easy to play with the stick provided.
7th Prize: A metal Tibetan prayer wheel from Siesta Fair Trade Crafts worth £30 (www.siestacrafts.co.uk)

Tibetan Buddhist ritual artefact, fairly traded from Nepal and approximately 23cm in length. The practice of turning a Tibetan Prayer Wheel - or even having one in your home - is said to be of immeasurable benefit for yourself and others!
