Thank you and Happy New Year!

chorton-&-mountain

We are now back in the office after our Christmas and New Year break and looking forward to a busy 2014! The last year has been a really exciting and positive; our appeals successfully reached the targets needed to affect real change; we welcomed many new supporters through old fashioned word of mouth, social media and our merchandising and we continued to build on the programmes and projects we support that bring hope, comfort and sustainability to Tibetans in exile and Tibetans in Tibet. We are only able to continue this vital work with the generous donations we receive, so thank you.

Last year we had several supporters taking part in events, or organising events to raise money for us. Thanks to: Gary Heads , Kathryn Smith, Graham Titcombe, Sam Hadcock, Ivan Mostyn-Scott, Keith MacIntosh, Ida Bertolini, Peter Maguire, Mark McCardle and Isaac McCardle who all got involved during 2013. And thank you also to Rowena Field and Diana Hughes and others who have organised stalls and sold our merchandise. The commitment and enthusiasm shown by our supporters in undertaking all sorts of initiatives is really motivating and inspiring to all of us working it the office.

This year will again bring all sorts of challenges, events and opportunities to get involved; we will keep you posted through the year! For starters we have some spaces in the British 10K London run and also the Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100; if you are interested please email [email protected].

Our sponsorship programme continues to put many Tibetans, young and old, through education as well as bringing comfort and solace to elderly Tibetans with no immediate family. Over the years and with the amazing generosity of our supporters, we have successfully funded hundreds of young students through school and university, enabling them to reach their potential despite the adversity faced. The need is still very much there … if you would like to sponsor a student, monk, nun or elder, please contact [email protected].

With all our best wishes for a positive, peaceful and prosperous 2014 and, once again, thank you for all your support and generosity.
