It is with enormous sadness that we report the death of Sue Lloyd-Roberts, a long-time trustee of Tibet Relief Fund. Sue was a passionate advocate for Tibet, both as a human rights defender and as someone who wanted to provide practical humanitarian aid that would help Tibetans rebuild their futures. She will be much missed by both Tibet Relief Fund and all the Tibetans whose lives she touched and cause she fought for.
Riki Hyde-Chambers, Chair of Tibet Relief Fund, paid tribute saying, “I had enormous respect for Sue both as a human rights journalist and as a really good friend of Tibet. She was very courageous, not just over these last few months when battling her cancer, but over her life where she so often took risks to expose human rights violations, not least when she went to Tibet to make a report. Our thoughts are very much with her husband Nick and her children. It is a great loss.”
