Last summer we launched our Painting the Plateau exhibition at our office in London. The exhibition is a wonderful collection of paintings and drawings by Anne Jennings Brown sharing the variety and styles of traditional Tibetan dress.
We took a travelling version of the exhibition to the WOMAD festival in July and for a special weekend-long showing in York in September. Supporters new and old have enjoyed learning more about the colourful Tibetan clothes and jewellery captured so beautifully in these pictures.
With the rapid homogenisation of Tibetan dress both in Tibet and in exile, this collection is vital to the preservation of hundreds of years of tradition and knowledge… and we want as many people to see it as possible! So in 2018 we will be hitting the road again and bringing the collection to a town or village near you!
