We promised you photos of the elders at Tibetan Homes Foundation (THF) enjoying their new clothes… and here they are!
Thanks to your generosity, 81 elderly Tibetans were taken shopping for new winter clothes. THF arranged three shopping trips with a caretaker and nurse to help the elders out. They each got to pick out their new clothes and some also had enough money left to buy knee warmers, blankets and thermos flasks.
The elders live in a region of India which gets really cold in winter. Temperatures in Mussoorie can drop below zero and, like most buildings in India, the elders’ homes have no central heating so good winter clothes are especially important.
Mrs Pema Lhamo was happy to be able to go and shop for herself. She says…
“I am glad to have new winter jacket and also a knee warmer from the money gift we received for this winter.”
The elders at THF are all in good spirits – it is amazing what a difference something as simple as new clothes can make. Thank you for making this possible.
