As you may remember from our last edition of Tibet Matters, this year we also sent a grant for a project supplying semi-nomadic communities in the Garze region of Tibet with greenhouses.
This innovative project has so far allowed nomads to grow more than 3.5 tonnes of fruit and vegetables … no mean feat in a cold climate at high altitude! This fresh produce has been a welcome addition to a diet previously lacking in vitamins and nutrition.
