Help Young Tibetans in Exile Build Their Futures

Our Latest Appeal

Help fund 12 training and internship opportunities for young Tibetans living in exile in India.

For young Tibetans living in exile in India, the journey from education into meaningful employment can be difficult.

Financial barriers, limited access to professional networks and career guidance, and fewer pathways into employment can make it harder to gain the experience and connections that help people begin their careers.

For many young people, the hardest part isn't ability or ambition — it's getting that first opportunity.

Through the established Fellowship Programme run by the Empowering the Vision Project (EVP), we are raising funds to support 12 opportunities for young Tibetans:

5 young people through short vocational or professional training courses.
5 young people through internships with employers.
2 young people through paid internships with EVP.

These opportunities will provide practical experience, new skills and professional connections, helping young people move towards employment and greater independence.

What your donation could help provide

Every donation will help fund training and internship opportunities for young Tibetans living in exile in India. You don't need to fund a whole placement to make a difference.

Donations will be brought together to help meet the costs of the 12 opportunities, including vocational and professional training and paid internships.

For example:

  • £50 could help cover one month's support for a young person undertaking a three-month internship.
  • £150 could help cover the cost of a three-month internship placement.
  • £800 could support one young person through a fellowship, helping them access vocational training or a professional course.

Whether you give £5, £10, £25 or more, your donation will become part of the funding that makes these opportunities possible.

Together, these opportunities can help young Tibetans gain practical skills, experience and professional connections as they work towards employment and greater independence.

Someone gave you your first opportunity

Think back to your own first opportunity — the first person who gave you a chance, the first workplace where you gained experience, or the training that helped you get started.

For a young Tibetan living in exile in India, opportunities like these can be harder to access. Financial barriers and limited professional networks can make it difficult to gain that first experience or make the connections that help a career begin.

Your donation can help fund one of 12 training and internship opportunities, giving a young Tibetan the chance to gain skills, experience and professional connections that can help shape their future.

What can one opportunity change?

The skills, experience and professional connections gained through these opportunities can continue to make a difference long after the training or internship ends, helping young people build stronger foundations for employment, independence and the future they want to pursue.

How your donation will be used

If we raise more than our target, any additional funds will be used to support Tibet Relief Fund's charitable work with Tibetan communities in India and Nepal.

If we do not reach our target, all funds raised will still be used to support young Tibetans through the Empowering the Vision Project.
