Standing with Tibetan communities in exile — today and for generations to come
Some acts of compassion continue long into the future.
What do we leave behind?
Every one of us leaves something behind.
Sometimes it is the love we've shared, the people we've helped or the values we've chosen to live by. Sometimes it is the quiet acts of kindness that continue to make a difference long after they are given.
For many people, remembering a charity in their Will is another expression of those values. It is a way of ensuring that the compassion they have shown throughout their lifetime continues helping others for generations to come.
At Tibet Relief Fund, we have stood alongside Tibetan communities living in exile for more than sixty years. We are invited to support community-led projects that strengthen education, healthcare, care for older people, opportunities for young people and the preservation of Tibetan language and culture.
By remembering Tibet Relief Fund in your Will, your compassion can continue standing alongside Tibetan communities in exile—today, tomorrow and for generations to come.
Why your legacy matters
The Tibetan communities we work alongside have shown extraordinary resilience in the face of displacement and uncertainty. Our role has always been to listen, to respond to community priorities and to remain alongside them for as long as we are needed.
A gift in your Will helps us continue that commitment. It gives us the confidence to plan ahead, respond to changing needs and invest in projects that will benefit future generations.
Your legacy could help to:
Support children and young people to access education
Provide healthcare and care for vulnerable older people
Strengthen self-reliance through sustainable projects
Protect and preserve Tibetan culture and identity
Leaving a Gift in Your Will
Leaving a gift in your Will is often much simpler than people imagine.
After providing for your family and loved ones, you may wish to remember a cause that has been important to you during your lifetime.
There are several ways to leave a gift, and every legacy—whatever its size—helps continue our work alongside Tibetan communities living in exile.
A residuary gift
A share of your estate once you have provided for family and friends. This is a popular option, as it keeps its value over time.
A pecuniary gift
A specific gift
How to include a gift in your Will
Including a gift to the Tibet Relief Fund in your Will is straightforward.
All you need to do is share our details with your solicitor when writing or updating your Will. We recommend using a qualified solicitor to ensure your wishes are clearly recorded and legally valid.
Charity name: Tibet Relief Fund
Address: 68a Rocheter Place, London NW1 9JX
Registered charity number: 1061834
If you already have a Will, you can add a gift by using a simple amendment known as a codicil.
Writing or updating your Will
Making a Will allows you to take care of those close to you, while also supporting causes that reflect your values.
If you would like to make or update your Will, we recommend speaking with a solicitor to ensure your wishes are clearly recorded and legally valid.
You can find a solicitor through the The Law Society.
Tax considerations
Gifts to UK registered charities are exempt from Inheritance Tax. In some cases, leaving 10% or more of your estate to charity may reduce the overall rate of tax applied to your estate.
As circumstances vary, we recommend seeking advice from a solicitor or financial advisor, or visiting HM Revenue and Customs for further information.
Continuing a Story of Compassion
Every legacy tells a story.
Some people choose to remember Tibet Relief Fund because they have supported our work for many years. Others have been inspired by the resilience of Tibetan communities living in exile or share our belief in the importance of compassion, education and preserving culture for future generations.
Whatever your reason, your gift becomes part of a story that continues.
It helps children discover opportunities through education. It helps older people receive care with dignity. It helps young people build brighter futures. It helps ensure that Tibetan language and culture continue to be lived and shared for generations to come.
That is the difference a legacy can make.
