Payroll giving

A simple, tax-efficient way to give

Payroll giving is an easy way to support our work through a regular donation taken directly from your salary. Because the donation is made before tax is applied, it costs you less to give more.
It’s a straightforward way to provide ongoing support to Tibetan communities living in exile, helping fund essential services like education, healthcare and community care.

How it works

When you give through payroll, your donation is taken from your salary before income tax is deducted.

This means:

A £10 donation could cost you £8 if you’re a basic rate taxpayer

Higher rate taxpayers can save even more on their donation.

Why choose payroll giving

It’s one of the most effective ways to make a lasting difference through regular giving.

Tax-efficient

Your donation is taken from your salary before tax is applied.

Regular and reliable

Provides steady support for long-term work.

Simple to manage

Set it up once and it runs automatically.

Flexible

You can change or stop your donation at any time.

How to get started

Payroll giving is usually set up through your employer.

1. Check if your workplace offers a payroll giving scheme.

2. If they do, you can sign up through your HR or payroll team.

3. If not, you can ask your employer to set one up—it’s quick and easy to do.

Have a question?

Here are a few of the things people often ask about payroll giving.

Can I change or stop my donation?
Yes. You can increase, decrease or stop your donation at any time through your payroll or HR team.

What happens if I change jobs?
Your donation won’t automatically move with you, but you can easily set it up again with your new employer if they offer a payroll giving scheme.

How do I know my donation is reaching you?
Donations are processed through your employer’s payroll giving scheme and paid directly to us via an approved agency, so you can be confident your support is reaching our work.

What if my employer doesn’t offer payroll giving?
You can ask them to set one up - it’s usually straightforward to do. If helpful, we can provide information to support that conversation.

Is there a minimum amount I have to give?
No—there’s no set minimum. Even a small regular donation can make a meaningful difference over time.
