What your donation could help provide

The Empowering the Vision Project creates opportunities in different ways, from vocational training to workplace experience. Every donation, whatever its size, will help us move closer to supporting 12 young Tibetans.

  • £800 could support one young person through a fellowship, helping them access vocational training or a professional course.
  • £150 could help cover the cost of a three-month internship placement.
  • £50 could help cover one month's support for a young person undertaking a three-month internship.

Whatever you choose to give, you'll be helping a young Tibetan gain the skills, experience and confidence to take their next step towards employment.

Help 12 young Tibetans take their next step

Sometimes, a young person needs the opportunity to show what they can do.

For young Tibetans growing up in exile in India, the journey from education into meaningful employment can be particularly difficult.

Many face barriers that their peers may not: limited access to professional networks and career guidance, fewer employment opportunities, and the challenges that come with growing up in a community living in long-term exile.

Young people may have the ability, ambition and determination to build a future for themselves. But without the opportunity to gain practical experience or develop the right professional skills, getting started can be difficult.

Think back to your own first opportunity — the first person who gave you a chance, the first workplace where you gained experience, or the training that helped you take your next step.

For many young Tibetans, that first opportunity can be much harder to find.

This year, we want to help 12 young Tibetans take that next step.

Creating Opportunities

Through the Empowering the Vision Project (EVP), Tibet Relief Fund helps young Tibetans gain the skills, experience and confidence they need to take their first steps into employment.

This year, we hope to create 12 opportunities for young Tibetans.

Five young people will receive support to undertake short vocational or professional training courses. Five will gain valuable workplace experience through internships with employers, while two will undertake paid internships with the Empowering the Vision Project itself.

Each opportunity is tailored to the individual and the path they hope to pursue, helping them develop the skills, confidence and experience they need to move forward.

For many young people, the hardest part isn't ability or ambition—it's getting that first opportunity.

EVP helps bridge that gap.

What can one opportunity change?

This year, we want to support:

  • 5 young people through short vocational or professional training courses.
  • 5 young people through internships with employers.
  • 2 young people through paid internships with the Empowering the Vision Project.

Each will come with different ambitions. Their journeys will be different, but each needs an opportunity to take that next step.

The skills they gain, the experience they build and the confidence they develop can stay with them long after their training or internship ends, helping to create a stronger foundation for employment, independence and the future they want to pursue.

12 young people. 12 opportunities.

Every donation, whatever its size, will bring us closer to creating 12 opportunities for young Tibetans to gain the skills, experience and confidence they need to move forward.

We cannot know exactly where each opportunity will lead.

But we can help make sure these 12 young people have the opportunity to find out.

Please donate today and help 12 young Tibetans gain the skills, experience and opportunity to build their own futures.
